What this test is about
Twelve questions about how you actually work when nobody is watching: how you start, how you decide, what drains you, what you would do all day for free. Each answer leans toward one of six work archetypes, and the test tallies which way your answers lean hardest. There are no right answers and no job titles at the end — just the shape of your working style, named.
What's free, and what's deeper
Free: Your archetype — Builder, Analyst, Creator, Connector, Strategist or Explorer — with a one-line read on how your brain likes to run at work.
Go deeper: The Deep Dive ($19.99) opens the full five-part report for your archetype: Core Traits, Strengths, Blind Spots, In Relationships and At Work — including the kinds of roles and environments where this archetype tends to do its best work, and the setups that quietly drain it.
Results you can get
- The Builder — you think with your hands: if it can be made, fixed or shipped, you're in
- The Analyst — you find the truth hiding inside the mess
- The Creator — blank pages don't scare you, they charge you
- The Connector — people are your medium: strangers into teams, teams into communities
- The Strategist — you play the long game while everyone else plays the loud one
- The Explorer — new field, new skill? You're already halfway in
Frequently asked questions
Is the Career Compass a professional aptitude assessment?
No. It's an entertainment quiz about work style — a mirror for how you like to work, not a clinical or professional evaluation. It doesn't measure skill, intelligence or employability, and it shouldn't be the deciding factor in any real career decision.
Will it tell me which job to apply for?
No — deliberately. Instead of naming job titles, it names the archetype your answers lean toward and describes the environments where that style tends to fit. What you do with the mirror is up to you.
How is my archetype decided?
Each of the 12 answers leans toward one of the six archetypes. The one your answers lean toward most often is your result; close calls are broken by the order of the archetypes, so everyone lands somewhere definite.
