Frequently asked questions
What is a social battery?
It's the popular metaphor for the energy socialising costs you. Some people's batteries charge in a crowd and drain alone; others spend charge on every interaction and recharge in quiet. Neither is better — but they need opposite weekends. This test measures where you sit from 1 (Perpetual Motion Machine) to 10 (Deep Hibernation Mode) based on how you actually behave at, before, and after social events.
Why do I get tired at parties even when I'm having fun?
Because fun and cost are separate ledgers: you can genuinely enjoy people while your battery still drains — especially if you're monitoring conversations, performing, or in loud, unpredictable environments. Several questions in the test separate 'I had a great time' from 'I needed a full day to recover', which is why your result can feel surprisingly accurate.
Does a high level just mean I'm an introvert?
Not exactly. Introversion is about preference; this scale is about throughput — how much socialising you can do before you're running on fumes, whatever you prefer. Plenty of warm, people-loving people land at Level 7 or 8: they adore their friends and still need two quiet days after the wedding.
