What this test is about

Answer 12 questions about your outward social shine: walking into a room of strangers, opening conversations, being remembered afterwards. Each answer scores 0–3 points; your total maps to a Social Butterfly level from 1 to 10.

What's free, and what's deeper

Free: Your Social Butterfly level and the first two sections of your report — the level reading and the evidence from your answers.

Go deeper: The Deep Dive ($2.99) unlocks how your shine actually works, where it quietly costs you, and a plan for aiming it — which rooms are worth your full wattage, and how to open warmer conversations at any level.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the Social Battery test?

They measure opposite directions. Social Battery asks what socialising costs you — how much charge a party drains. The Social Butterfly Index asks what you radiate — how much you open up, connect and light up a room while you're in it. Plenty of people score high here and drain fast there: brilliant for two hours, then home. Taking both gives you the full picture.

Can a quiet person score high on the butterfly index?

Yes — shine isn't volume. Several high levels are built on one-on-one depth, remembering names and details, and making one person feel like the centre of the room. The questions score connection behaviour, not loudness: a Level 7 Crowd Surfer and a Level 6 Icebreaker often never raise their voice at all.

Is a low butterfly level a problem to fix?

No. Low levels include the Decorative Wallflower and the Quiet Observer — people whose social style is depth over broadcast, and whose friends wouldn't trade them. The report reads every level for what it's good at; the deep version's plan is about aiming the style you have, not becoming someone else.
